Former Oregon Lawyer Sentenced on Transfer of Obscene Materials to Minor
Portland, Ore. – Jason Thomas Fehlman, 37, of Tualatin, Oregon, and a former member of
the Oregon State Bar, was sentenced to a term of 63 months today before District Court Judge
Michael W. Mosman. Fehlman plead guilty on April 30, 2008 to a charge of transfering obscene
material to a minor. Fehlman’s criminal conduct occurred in late August to early September of
2007, when he used a computer to transfer obscene material to another individual whom he
believed was under the age of 16. The case was investigated by the FBI’s Innocent Images Task
Force, working with the Hillsboro Police Department.
In July, 2007, the Oregon State Bar suspended Fehlman’s license to practice law for one
year following a conviction in Washington County for Public Indecency. Fehlman resigned from
the Oregon State Bar in April, 2008.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Billy J. Williams.
