FBI Celebrates 100 Years with Teen Science Program
Science for the Next Century Exposes Students to Forensics
In honor of the FBI's 100 year anniversary,
the Portland Division is sponsoring two "Law Enforcement
Science for the Next Century" programs for students.
The first session takes place on Tuesday, July 15,
2008 at the Northwest Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory
in Portland . During this class, students will learn
about the components of a computer (by taking them
apart!) and how to conduct forensic exams (such as
looking for hidden and deleted data).
The second session takes place on Thursday, July
31, 2008 at the FBI's training facility located at
Camp Bonneville in Clark County . In this session,
the students will learn about physical forensics such
as blood splatter analysis, latent fingerprints, hair
and fiber retrieval and more.
"These classes are a wonderful, hands-on way
to expose students to the world of forensic science," said
Special Agent in Charge David Ian Miller. "We
are very excited to share this program with teens from
all over the state."
