FBI Sets Up Hotline for Ernst and Ernst Gallery Victims

The FBI has established a hotline to provide information to those who believe they were affected by an alleged investment/Ponzi scheme run by the owner of the Ernst and Ernst Galleries in Cannon Beach and Seaside, Oregon.

Last week, FBI agents served a series of federal search warrants and seized approximately 2,000 pieces of art. The case remains under investigation, and no further case details can be released at this time.

However, those who believe they are victims or who have art on consignment with one of the galleries can call (503) 273-5812 for instructions as to how to file claims. Each victim will be instructed as to the information he or she will need to provide. In the case of consigners, they will need to provide the serial number on each piece of art, the name of each piece of art, and the name of the artist. Victims and consigners can send the requested information to cindy.dugan@ic.fbi.gov. They should also gather any records that document a financial loss based on dealings with Ernst and Ernst and save for future proceedings. Victims can receive further instructions, and updates as available, by calling the hotline number.
